Common Problems
Some of the more common problems can involve not being able to reach
the next stage of the ad booking process (ie, being returned to the
same page). If this is happening to you, our technical tips below may
help overcome this.
Cookies/Privacy
If you are using Internet Explorer 6, look under the Tools > Internet
Opitions menu. There is a Privacy tab - setting the Privacy level to
Medium (this will enable cookies).
If you are using an earlier version of IE, then you will need to look
somewhere under the Security tab, and (possibly in the advanced settings)
there will be settings to allow 1st and 3rd party cookies. You need
to allow 1st party cookies as a minimum.
If you are using another browser, there will be settings somewhere
in the preferences (ask us if you need help locating the settings).
Firewall
If you are running Norton Firewall, these are the instructions supplied
by our IT department:
Instructions to fix Norton Firewall related (referrer blocking) problems,
based on Norton Personal Firewall 2004.
(1) Open Norton Personal Firewall's configuration (double click on
the green globe icon on the computer's desktop, or in the system tray).
(2) Click the "privacy control" bar in the middle of the
Norton Personal Firewall screen.
(3) Click the yellow "configure" button on the right hand
side.
(4) Ensure that the "privacy control level" slider is set
to MEDIUM, and click the "Custom Level" button.
(5) In the "Customize Privacy Settings" box, UNCHECK the
"Enable Browser Privacy" box and click OK.
(6) Click the OK button to close the Privacy Control box, and the site
should now work.
If you still have a problem with registration, or any other technical
problem, email: helpdesk@edp24.co.uk.
